Bosham is a popular coastal village near Chichester Harbour in West Sussex. Inhabited since before Roman times it is close to the Roman palace at Fishbourne. There is a tradition that a daughter of King Canute drowned in a nearby brook and is buried here. Indeed, a coffin with a child’s skeleton was discovered in the chancel of the Holy Trinity Church in Bosham village. Bosham itself has a fine harbour and sailing club. At spring tides, the sea comes up flooding the rural lower road and some car parking spaces.
