Beara Peninsula Dursey Island Painting This painting is of Dursey Island. The island is at the extreme south-western end of the Beara Peninsula, this being one of those huge peninsulas that project out into the Atlantic Ocean in S. W. Ireland. To get onto this island from the end of the peninsula, you have to cross in the only cable car in Ireland. Besides being used for human passengers, this cable car is often used for sheep and other farm animals The view is looking back over Dursey Island and in the distance across to the Beara Peninsula.
